Round Up of the Exhibition 1

Between 22nd March, and 20th April we launched the start of our new programme, The Town is the Gallery with new exhibitions from Sorrell Kerrison, Chwarae Teg / Fair Play, Elisa Sallis and Ella Matthews, On the Waltzers, Wirral MET and Tomorrows Women, Creative Mapping and for the first time a Convenience Store Pop up at the old M&S in Birkenheads High Street. The first of 3 exhibition blocks at the site in Spring/Summer 2024.

Part of the Borough of Culture for Wirral too, our newest Convenience programme, The Town is the Gallery invites people to explore Birkenhead in 3 distinct places, the town centre in the old M&S, Merseyside's oldest building the priory, and the historic Birkenhead Library, with a series of new artworks and projects from local artists.

The artworks in this first show block were seen by a whopping 1255 of you across 4 weeks, and we had 300 wonderful contributions to our community tea towels as well.

The next shows open on May 11th at the old M&S and Birkenhead Priory, and we hope you will join us again.

Thanks to Wirral Council, East Street Arts, KindredLCR, Queensways, the Artists, Volunteers, and public. See you for the next one!!
