A unique Birkenhead collaboration between Liverpool John Moores University, and Convenience Gallery. A series of FREE talks are happening, each one followed by a cultural event and a creative workshop with a practicing artist, musician or writer.

Ever wondered what Professors and scholars spend their time thinking about?

We’ve chosen some of the friendliest and most engaging academics to come and talk to us about their work and ideas in a series of free talks and discussions followed by creative workshops that we are calling, Thinking Out Loud.

It is a chance to meet people just as extraordinary as the rest of us. Each talk will be designed to be thought provoking and encourage us to think about the world around us in new and imaginative ways. These events are about listening and sharing.

A number of talks took place these included lecturers:

Professor Joe Moran - Shyness, Writing and the Everyday

Grandma never knit like this - Dr Cassie Ogden & Dr Katherine Harrison

Wilde in the wasp - Dr Deaglan Donghaile

Fear - Dr David Tyrer

Talks were then followed by workshops - this included Claire Henderson & Jess Scott as workshop facilitators.

This collaboration was made possible by the late, wonderful  John Hyatt.
